The morning mind had been on other things, but for a time everything stopped, the messenger who had brought the news leaving in haste at the reaction his news had caused. All had been denied entry to Shadow Fall's library, the Cisran councilmembers, petitioners and even his own military commanders kept at bay by a silent Sir Herzog. When the door's finally opened, it was only to have letters given to waiting messengers, the proclamation posted in every major town and settlement of the lands claimed by Gharnholme.

In respect of the passing of Fayalki, scout, mystic and husband, all trappings of government will be lowered to half-staff for the next fortnight. In the memory of his life and ways, during this time bonfires will be lit at night in the central squares of Briarstone and Cisroe.

For the rest of the day he would order no disturbances, as it would be a time of reflection. There were damn few Lucius could honestly say he respected, even less that he actually enjoyed talking to.
