Cisroe, Kaylieth Located within the vast realms of Carowyn. (Old Common: Careoryn)

Cisroe was a bustling metropolis. Loaded with a variety of merchants of all types. From farmer to mages, and every sort of craftsmen one might need. The city's placement with the large port and harbor made it a common destination for most travelers to the lands of Kaylieth. It was also an Educational location. For dominating the city was the largest Collection of books, records, knowledge and far more information. The place is commonly called the "Great Library of Carowyn", for there wasn't any other realm within the world that could claim such a vast compilation of this much information in one local.

It's a depository of great knowledge in History, magics and mystery. Recently renovated and updated with a vast collection added by the current noble ruler of the area, Lord Lucius DeAuster. Many colleges can be found nearby this epic structure, with it's pearly pale elegantly carved dome rising above the other buildings around and dominating the city's silhouette.

Upon the surface Cisroe was a quaint, picturesque looking place. Elegant town homes and manors, with equally prestigious Hotels and Inns that offered the best amenities mages could create and such establishments could afford. All boasting an array of specialties along with some of the best foods and wines one might find in the region.

Rich with art and social entertainments such as your opera houses and stage halls, to appeal to the nobility that often landed there for the seasonal whirl. Elegant shops, tailors, Inn's and even a few opulent hotels along with fashionable caf?'s dotted the "Mayfield Square" and surrounded a lovely rose garden that played host to solitary walks and picnics for many.

Like every city, Cisroe also had its dark side. With the wealth of the place there was also the poor. An area that from a distance didn't seem so dingy yet up close one found it less then pristine. It too had its dregs of society, the indolent; those down on their luck, the pitiable and the destitute huddled within the area. Along side the predators, gamblers, mercenary and cruel.

At night one could find anything to appeal to all natures, from the more innocent of entertainments of ballet to ballrooms, to the more nefarious interest. Rakehells, gambling halls and houses of ill repute make a good business once the sunset and the gaslights flickered on. It was a place that caters to a variety of sophistication and taste and took pride in both its blessings and it's curses.

Cisroe is also a very well defended city, with both Gharnholme troops in residence along with a vast amount of city guards to shore up its military protections. The entire region is also surrounded by an impressive stonewall with main gates leading from the city on three sides. The Harbor is also the home of a number of navel vessels all set to guard the city from any seaside attacks.

Ivory Flails, Yedia Located within the vast realms of Carowyn. (Old Common: Careoryn)

Ivory Flails is found in a remote location, in the region of Piol some distance from any major city although most travelers tend to use the capitol city of Ralia as their starting point to visit this hub for marketing. Due to its nature as a Neutral realm, many could move about freely, even in times of war. Of course, the other aspect of its purpose did make such things, as portals forbidden, so travel there would take about six to eight hours by carriage, depending upon the weather.

The terrain where this curious city is located is surrounded by desert with large rocky crags rising up from the dunes around. There is a very large oasis called the "Mahira's Rest" nearby, that is surrounded by jagged peaks of stone emerging from the sand around it. It seemed to be a popular location with a variety of venders and travelers wandering about, taking in the serene setting and enjoying the peaceful beauty of the calm blue waters found within.

Many upon first seeing the place liken it to a dream rising from the barren sands, with it's towering marble pale buildings rising up from behind tall walls. This large, white city is built up around an open area in the very center. A vast field with colorful tents and booths showing off the various wares and goods sold from all over the realm. One can find commodities of all types, although the greatest interest of this location is that Ivory Flails is the only Slave Market in the realms of Carowyn. In light of that, magic in this area is muted and most especially restricted in the regards to teleporting and any other forms of arcane travel.

Due to the desert environment most locals will be seen wearing the long pale robes, but mingled into this is many other styles as merchants and traders from all over the lands offer their merchandise here. Ivory Flails is also well known for its caf?'s and taverns, which are designed with the local flavor. In such places one will find low tables with thick fat legs and a myriad of plush opulent pillows surrounding them, all for the comfort of their patrons. Curiously enough such places serve many unique blends of coffee, from the very rich thick-spiced type to the more common variety and all kinds in-between and can be matched to any palate or choice.

Even with the climate being dry, Ivory Flail merchants also sell unique wines and other assorted exotic drinks created from the unusual plants and flowers that can be found through out the desert location.

Ivory Flails is a city rich in wealth as well as culture easily found in the street musicians and the elegant Inns located through out. They cater to the more wealthy and established nobility of the lands, but there is also a seedier side as well. For while it is a region that is restricted, with traveling papers being required to move about freely, the local militia tends to avoid interfering in most business transactions so there is a thriving black market in play. While the militia's primary concern is more inclined towards the safety of their visitors, there are also strict regulations regarding the treatment of property. Be it the trafficking of slavery or the selling of other goods, the law is to be adhered to, and this alone does keep the militia quite busy.

Ama Ederoi Meaning of the Name: Blood Angels

Current Regional Location: Vothyian, Kaylieth. This area is heavily made up of woodlands, hills and lakes. The Kesirran River cuts through these lands and offers scenic views of waterfalls and crystal clear springs thought to hold magical properties.

Village Names: Dale Airen Astiraria Isanar Coryan Golade

Leader: Riordian Leader Title: The Remiel (Means Awakener) -The Remiel is an Elder, and their position is a representation of the awakener whose goal is to bring others to a higher plain of consciousness and union with their eternal self and the magic which resides within. It is the supposition of historians that the Ama Edoroi is one of the most ancient races of Elves to populate the world of Carowyn. This belief stems from a number of ruins that dot the various continents where known settlements of theirs once existed before the Great Desolation (Time before Memory) struck our World. It is speculated that while the Ama Ederoi are not actually native to the realms of Carowyn, there is substantial evidence to support their mingling with other races to create new classes of elfkin which now populate the lands and beyond.

Appearance: Usually tall and slender in build the Ama Edoroi also have silver hair and eyes. Elegant and graceful with voices that hold the echo of soothing music in their tone.

They are a race that has a deep appreciation for beauty. Gifted in the areas of music, arts, history and literature they are also skilled with horticulture and herbology. The one remaining pure blood settlement recently discovered upon the continent of Kaylieth maintains the artisan skills of their predecessors. Weapons crafted by the Ama Ederoi are still found to be among the most beautiful and deadly to date. However, they are still rather secular in their social interactions with others and making their objects of art and more difficult to obtain on the open market. Often only the wealthiest of individuals might be so lucky to acquire such items.

Another area in which they excel is the handling and breeding of a variety of creatures. From the Titan hawks and eagles that some of their kind ride and bond with, they are also skilled in the training of horses and large cats, as well as the smaller of the predatory birds such as Blackwing falcons, Wilden Owls and Silera Osprey commonly used for hunting of game and fish. Talented breeders they also train a variety of domestic dogs and cats. They had a deep fondness for creatures both small and large and tend to keep them around for their own pleasure and companionship.

It has been only recently that they have accepted a trade agreement with the Regent of Gharnholme. The reasons for this have not yet been revealed to historians.

The Edori Meaning: Children of the Blood Location Taybior, Carowyn

Appearance: The Edori are often found with light colored hair in the tones of blond, brown or light red. Their eye colors varies but tend to be lighter in shades of blue, green and gold often flecked with silver. Skin tone usually has a warm glow of color, with some having a faint golden tint to the pigmentation. Height varies but averages from 5'2" to 6'5".

Magics for The Edori elf tend to follow the classic paths of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. It is said they were the first of the new races after the "Time before Memory" to harness the abilities of magic which is why the Magus Guild is located in Taybior. Very few of those with this Elven blood are born without some magic, most with the blood have some unique, and inherent trait that stems from their mystical ancestry. They are known to be gifted healers, illusionists and Scryers. They are also generally known to be skilled sailors with a number of their magic to be suited to the manipulation of weather.

It is believed that this race of elf is a mixing of the native Kesirran Elves of Taybior and the Ama Ederoi. Their current name is an offshoot of the Ancient race they descended from. The Kesirrans did not survive the Great Desolation however their bloodlines do continue on in the Edori. The name "Kesirran" means "By the Sea" and their love of the water is obvious as most of their cities, towns, villages and settlements are often located near water.

It is thought that they are but one of several other Elven races born from the mingling with the Ama Ederoi. However there is only one known location where the purest of the race of the Ama Ederoi can be found and this is in a fairly remote location of Kaylieth.

There are also rumors of a mingling of the Ama Ederoi with the Cydor (Cinder/Fire) Elves of Yeadia and the Rinarran Wild Elves of distant northern lands. History speaks of many other branches of the Ama Ederoi but as of yet, little is known regarding such tales, but as we developed a better relationship with the Northern regions we may learn more about this.

Orphelias

Orphelias is the largest and closest of Carowyn's three moons, the eldest of the Three Maidens according to "The Song of Erimas". It's orbit around Carowyn takes approximately 40 days, and has become the basis of what is the calendar accepted by many of the realms of Carowyn. Of particular note is the fact that Orphelias has it's own atmosphere and ecosystem. The indigenous creatures have evolved to deal with the time known as the Darkening, a period in the middle of each month when Orphelias passes through Carowyn's shadow each day, casting the surface into a murky twilight for several hours.

Orphelias was first colonized in The Time Before Memory when the mage lords of Kahadras opened a portal into what would become the main settlement of Kherrickstone. Eight families won the rights to exploit the resources of the newly-discovered land, four being Kahadran human trader lords, the others four elven nobility from Eriagoth. Over the next decades vassals spread from Kherrickstone starting to harvest the woodlands and seek the riches of the earth.

Until The Darkness fell.

No one really knows what happened to cause the destruction of Kahadras, the great elven realm of Eriagoth or the drow city that lay below except perhaps the Ancients (and they do not allow outsiders into their library). The backlash of energies poured through the portal until it crashed, razing most of Kherrickstone and leaving only the outlying pockets of settlers to try to survive against the hostile environment that was the moon. Survive they did, the eight dynastic families slowly guiding the rebuilding of their civilization in the fall of years since. Eyes cast skyward, watching as their home of Carowyn fell into a smothering darkness that took hundreds of years to dissipate. Each of the families blamed the other for the destruction of the portal and evil tidings that befell the survivors, and was the beginnings of the hostilities that continue to the present day.

Some three hundred years ago contact was re-established between Carowyn and Orphelias. The Mages Guild, ever hungry to find remnants of the ancient societies and following tantalizing leads in mouldering journals and parchments, managed to open a portal to the moon where they were confronted by their Orphelian equivalent. The Carowynian mages were amazed to find a thriving society while the Orphelian's were (and still are) wary of their Carowynian cousins after so long in isolation. But, in the decades and centuries since a small basis of trade has developed. One of the main staples of trade for the Orphelians is the The Darkwere Oak, a tree that has proven to be a quite resilient wood able to stand the decay of years better than most. It's dark fibers also lend to crafting, along with the gems found in the mines that lie near the edge of the human sphere of control on the moon. Some wealthy Carowynians have established small demesne's within the dynasties to further facilitate trade, though both sides try to keep the new-comers out of local politics fearing another cataclysmic change to the Orphelian way of life.
