Some of you may have read the Thieves World series years ago....it's a series I often refer to as an example of collaborative writing. It's a collection of ongoing, short stories by different authors.....and the authors often refer to and use each others characters.
This led to me thinking a while back about how we all see the same thing in different ways.....which got me thinking about an idea for a "writing contest", which I decided to call "Eye of the Beholder".
The basic concept is this....take a specific period in the Inn or something, and invite those that were there to write about what happened while they were there, of course it is from their own characters point of view.
Anyone that wasn't there could use the posted logs to write about things that occured from a "fly on the wall" perspective.
Now, I refer to it as a writing contest, but as of yet....I don't know that we plan on doing any sort of judging, and I don't really have any prizes.....but I think this would be a fun challenge for all of you.
Long story short, I've got some ideas on getting this going, so look for more details to come. And if it gets some good response, I think it's something we could do on a fairly regular basis.
Let me know what you think.
