((Hey Guys, it's hard to find someone on the chat at the same time as yourself now-a-days so please free to jump in this free form story I'm posting, please keep it PG-13 and no one gets to play/post as the Viper ;) ))
Udeid Rhikud was a man of some note around Rhy'din, or at least he was over two decades ago when he was the Mayor. Now he was just another retired resident with a surplus of time and stories. Mayor Rhikud was known to be a crooked politician who had cheated his way into office and was was a patsy to the mob. Fortunately for the citizens, he was voted out in the very next election and barely avoided being tarred and feathered. Truth be told he convinced his "business partners" to hide him because if the angry mob did get a hold of him, they may decide to not stop there and come for them next. It was a tense couple of weeks for Rhikud but eventually things settled down, and the people moved on.
Of course that was all over 20 years in the past. Now the man who was once described in The Rhy'din Times as looking like a "stereo typical used chariot salesman" was an aged, balding, pudgy man that spent most of his times in his underwear and a bathrobe, shuffling around his family's mansion. Not that he had a family to speak up, just his housekeeper who also served as a cook, Gretta.
It was shaping up to be an ordinary Wednesday morning when Gretta head a loud shout of fright coming from her employers upstairs study. Arming herself with a frying pan from the stove she rushed to the defense of her employer.
"Vhat is it Herr Rhikud!"!?" Gretta bellowed as she came slamming through the study's door.
"Oh Gretta!" Mayor Rhikud moaned, "It's horrible, the Viper, the Viper just sent a message, he is coming for me!"
Gretta stepped back for a second taking it all in and then finally inquired "Who is this Viper you speak of Herr Rhikud?"
"An assassin from my past...I never thought he would come for me after all this time...." He was crying now thinking of all that he had done to get to this point. "Gretta you have to help me, is there anyone we can call" Perhaps we have enough money to hire an entire team?"
Gretta relaxing a little in the absence of an immediate threat rubbed her chin thoughtfully before she finally replied, "Yay as a matter of fact an old friend of mine just came back to town and he might be able to help."
