Never had been Teleperien been so happy. After the horrible accident where her beloved husband risked his own life to saved Erwyn from drowning, a renewed affection and devotion blossomed between Philippe and Tele. The two were like new lovers trying to discover each other. They were spied exchanging passionate kisses behind columns and tapestries. In private, they were drawn into passionate lovemaking where each was left sated. The household was so pleased to see this. The return of Philippe had been less than peaceful and they could see the strain between the queen and the pirate. To witness their love gave relief to all.
Each night before Erwyn went to bed, the three spent time alone. They read or played games and when Tele was teaching Erwyn to play the harp Philippe poured over maps and charts with compass and ruler with a grim and brooding face. Erwyn noticed this. One evening as Tele tucked her daughter bed, Erwyn asked;
"Why does Philippe look angry as he reads his maps?"
For a moment Tele paused. She finished tucking the blankets around Erwyn before she answered. How does one say he's traveling to exact revenge for the deaths of his crew and take back his ship The Lady Venture" Best not to say anything. "He has a task he must see to that is not pleasant. I cannot tell you why.."
"Why not?" Erwyn interrupted.
"Because Philippe would not wish you to know. If you wish, you may ask him yourself, but I doubt he'll be explicit."
The answer obviously didn't satisfy her daughter so Tele continued. "When the task is finished, you will be told. However, how would you like to stay with Amanda and Mystic and their father for a few weeks?"
"Are you going with Philippe?"
"Yes. I am to help him." Tele then kissed Erwyn's forehead. "Now, no more questions."
"But".!"
"No more." Tele said firmly. Erwyn huffed with frustration. "Good night."
Tele blew out the candles and left the room.
