This is intended to be a listing of the various toys and technological marvels that Ed Batten and his company make for the public to purchase.

Since this thread is more for my own amusement than anything else, save for the moderators I would appreciate it if this thread remained closed.

(Note: This is something of my own design, except for the background, which I stole from somewhere on Google. But other than that, this is all my own.)

Introducing for the first time in Rhy'din the first product ever put out by Batten Industries and the first of the Omni line of consumer products: OmniProof Armor.

Made to be shaped to the aesthetic and/or functional needs of the consumer, OmniProof Armor is not only the strongest armor available for purchase anywear, it is also the lightest. Constructed of millions of tassellated tiles made of a revolutionary lightweight polyalloy ceramic, this armor grows harder under pressure and impact - the greater the weight, the harder it gets. Once the pressure is relieved the armor returns to its original state again, ready for more action.

This armor can be applied to nearly any purpose where one might need protection - as a vehicular armor, structural enhancement of a building, or as personal armor, shaped into plates or woven into a fabric.

The unique construction method and material of the armor redistrubutes most of the force of impact over the entirety of the surface area, resulting in less injury from impacts of high velocity (bullets, hammers, car doors swung by vampires), and at the same time keeps the wearer safe from piercing impacts from knives, armor-piercing bullets, and the like. An average person wearing a light version (such as concealable body armor) of this armor can withstand an impact to the armored regions from anything up to and including a 30mm cannon without sustaining serious injury from the force of impact; the same person wearing a heavier full body suit of this armor can potentially be shot by a 104mm howitzer cannon at close range and live to tell the tale, though it may take some physical therapy to do so.

The vehicular and structural versions of this armor are able to take severe punishment without degrading or giving way, which makes it excellent not only for military vehicles and buildings, but also for construction equipment, high-risk industrial operations (such as metal refining, fuel collection and other potentially hazardous industrial practices), explosive ordnance disposal, ambassadorial vehicles, etc. Its light weight and unique qualities ensure that this armor is easily concealable wherever you may need it.

As the wants of the customer often dictate what is needed, the price is variable based on the request. Please contact the Marketing department for further details.

The OmniTouch Residential Computer Management Network will, quite simply, turn your entire house into your own personal computer, accessible from wherever you choose to have an interface installed. There are no wires, no bulky towers and clunky monitors. Instead, this computer system operates completely off of multi-touch surfaces installed onto whichever surface you wish - tables, desks, countertops, wall panels. Information can be transferred from one surface to another, ensuring that just because you need a drink of water you don't have to lose your place or progress on whatever you may be doing.

The multi-touch surfaces are powered using Batten Industries' OmniPower technology and are wirelessly networked to the OmniTouch supercomputer core installed in the home, thereby eliminating the need for trailing wires, surge protectors, or other unaesthetic (and potentially hazardous) protrusions. The operating system is a lightning-fast user-friendly, multi-touch graphical interface which can be modeled on any existing OS or programmed to fit with the user's needs and desires.

The base cost for this system is $5000 American, to include the OmniTouch computer core and six multi-touch surface installations. Depending on independent user needs, this price can be higher or lower.

OmniPower is Batten Industries' most successful product to date. Composed of an energy gathering, storage, management and monitoring system, the OmniPower system is a total-home modification which in essence can remove a building's dependence on the local power grid.

This modification centers around replacing a great deal of the house's flooring and walls, as well as installing panels on the roof for gathering solar energy, hidden windtraps for wind-driven energy, and funneling systems for channeling water. Therefore some construction is required; however, the materials used for gathering energy from the surrounding environment are constructed in such a way that very little difference is discernible except to the most observant eyes, and then only from certain angles.

This combination of energy-gathering methods, combined with the unique materials used in the energy-harnessing systems to generate massive quantities of power, a revolutionary flywheel energy storage system capable of storing it all, and an intelligent energy management and monitoring system, allows the homeowner to effectively remove the need for conventional electric power from their home and become a self-sufficient unit. This energy system is also perfect where conventional electrical power is not available, eliminating the need for bulky (and often noisy or hazardous) energy generators.

The process includes installing photovoltaic cells along the roof (which can be obvious in appearance or subtle, at the homeowner's discretion, for no extra charge); carefully placed wind traps to funnel moving air over aeroelastic energy collectors; subtle reconstruction of the roof shape and materials to facilitate faster water flow for rainwater runoff to be funneled over hydroelastic energy collectors; thermovoltaic energy collection materials in the walls; and replacement of floor tiles for kinetic energy gathering from footsteps or other impacts to the floor.

The secret to making this transition without a heavy impact on the overall design and appearance of the home is accomplished by the OmniPower construction material, which gathers ambient energy inherent in the world around us in a variety of ways and channels it to the FES cells, which in turn are connected to the OmniTouch computer core included with the OmniPower system. This advanced 'smart' computer system continually monitors the energy being produced, used and stored in the building, altering and adjusting power to sections of the building as needed. The unique nature of this material and its associated monitoring system also allows for complete biometric monitoring of each space in the building, which allows the OmniPower system to also act as a very effective security monitoring network.

The base price for this modification is largely dependent on the needs of the consumer, construction of the house in question and other considerations. Please contact the Marketing department for further details.

Another successful implement in the OmniPower line of products is the OmniPulse Active Deterrent Weapon. Designed to be a non-lethal form of self-defense and riot deterrent weapon, the gun is man-portable, about the size of a shotgun but half the weight. Powered by operating the lever mechanism atop the weapon, three times cycling the lever will power the weapon for ten minutes of continuous-wave firing, or ten energy bursts, as applicable. The lever action is easy and smooth to facilitate faster charging times, but it is not recommended this weapon be used in tactical situations where a faster weapon such as a conventional pistol will work better.

The OmniPulse is capable of the following energy-based effects:

Plasma Pulse: A blast of ionized particles projected in a direct path with force roughly equal to a rubber slug or beanbag fired from a 12 ga. shotgun. Effective range: 20 meters

Electric Pulse: A neural-disruption charge similar to a taser. Effective Range: 15 meters

Active Denial Wave: Continuous microwave energy can be focused into a directed beam of energy or an area-effect weapon. Power levels are kept low enough to induce excruciating pain along the skin of an organic target without doing any physical harm, as the beam is kept at such a low power that the waves are blocked from penetrating any further into the body past the skin. Effective Range: 80 meters

Audio Wave: The weapon can be set to emit extremely high-power sound waves which can disrupt and/or destroy the eardrums of a target and cause severe pain or disorientation. This is usually sufficient to incapacitate a person. Less powerful sound waves can cause humans to experience nausea or discomfort, if a less severe effect is desired.

The OmniPulse Active Deterrent Weapon is, as stated above, designed to be a non-lethal means of defense, and therefore comes with built-in safeguards which prevent modifying it into a lethal device.
