Bestselling author Michael Donnelly would like to announce the birth of his firstborn daughter, Michela Roisin.

Donnelly's wife, Elena - owner of Incredible Edibles - went into labor in the early hours of Monday, May 9th, and was delivered of a healthy baby girl by noon the same day. Both mother and daughter are reported to be doing just fine, and are expected to be released from the hospital by Thursday at the latest.

Michela Roisin is reported to have weighed 8lb 6oz at birth, and is named for her father, Michael, and her grandmother, Rosita.

When Yas heard that Elena had a little girl, she wanted to give the new baby something special. She felt a little close to Elena since they had lunch at her restaurant, Incredible Edibles. She also felt pretty close to the proud papa, Michael, since she worked on the movie based on his novel, "RhyDin Nights".

"Oh! That's it!" Yas thought. "Of course she'll grow up to be the little bookworm since her father's the famous author" She'll need a super cool place to keep all of her books!" She set out on her quest and found just the thing. A bookcase in the shape of a dollhouse. That way, if she rather stock it with dolls, it was multifunctional.

"But hey. The new mom missed out on Mother's Day by one day. She should get a little something, too." It just so happened that there were a few leftover rose bushes from the Mother's Day Request promotion at WHAM! 101.1FM. Yas went up to the studio and asked one of the secretaries if she could give one to a friend who just had a baby.

"Red or white?" The secretary asked with a smile.

"Definitely white," Yas answered, nodding.

"Aww," she said sweetly, "You're giving the new momma white roses since they symbolize purity and new beginnings and hope for the future."

"No," Yas corrected her bluntly, "I'm giving them white so it'll remind them of me."

"How would it remind them of you...?"

"Cuz of my white hair, duh,? Yas said, proudly flipping what little she could of her her short white platinum blonde hair.

Not all of Yas's gifts were meaningful and sweet.

After a couple of days' scrambling, a large package arrived at the Donnelly's home, along with an enormous card signed by the entire De Luca clan. Mataya, Max, Juno, Oscar, Rosita, Teresa, Lance, Sara, Miles, Anya, Tony and Sofia had all added their marks to the card, each one taking credit for the three gift baskets that arrived.

And there were already pleas to be chosen to babysit when the time came, too.

The following basket arrived promptly at the Donnelly's home following the news that Baby Michela had made her arrival in Rhy'Din, along with a card that read as follows:

Okay, so the box was large, and the gift might have been a little ....advanced ....for a newborn baby, but the card was heartfelt. It had made its way all the way from New York on Earth, and was signed not only with adult names, but two baby scribbles, and even a doggy footprint. The Dalys didn't do things by halves, it seemed.

To the new momma and poppa, We know, we know, a rocking horse is a bit over the top, but all babies lurve to rock out. Just you wait, you'll kiss us when she starts getting bored with just sitting up! Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing great, Jason, Bethany, Brody, Evelyn, and Lucky

A package wrapped in colorful paper and a few too many ribbons arrived at the Donnelly home a week or so after Elena had given birth. Inside the colorfully-wrapped box was a baby gym and a card that read:

Annabeth had waited a bit to deliver her present. Mostly hoping to let the parents get a little rest. It wasn't a big package, a hand quilted baby blanket, several toddler books to fill Yasmin's bookshelf, a few gift certificates for essentials, and a booklet of home-made coupons, basically saying that if they needed anything done, just to call her and she'd see what she could do.
