All the world's your ashtray

Sick and Beautiful - Artificial Joy Club
That sick bugger had pulled a switch on her. Tasha was still more then a little miffed about that and just stalked across the walk towards Onyx House. Stopping, she tried to shake the anger away. She was more then a little aware she had totally messed up this time.
Everyone in the family that knew wasn't happy about the deal she had made. Didn't matter that it had been for a good cause. Tasha had tried to keep those she cared about safe, but realizing just how empty her efforts had been, she felt trapped. Icer hadn't even attacked him to make that agreement null and void, but that. . . . that . . . Rat, Veighn pulled a bait and flip. All so very carefully worded and designed to keep her jumping through his hoops. Knowing Veighn he likely expected it to last for an eternity. Tasha on the other hand had other plans regarding that.
His latest demand was to be allowed to stay at Onyx House as a guest, so here she was staring at the front door with a sense of dread. Tasha didn't really want to ask her Da for this. She suspected that the "Black Mage" was up to no good. However, Icer was in no condition to fight back against Veighn. She hadn't faired to well the last time when the Dragon hadn't been laden with eggs. At the time, if Tasha hadn't interfered it would have ended badly and not in Icer's favor.
Chewing on her lip she started to walk, trying to work off the swelling of energy assailing her. The anger just radiating from her and Tasha didn't want to speak to her Father while in this state. Circling around to the back of the imposing Manor house, she was soon traveling through its shadow, bypassing the gardens and stepping back into the bright spring sunlight.
She followed the path along through the myriad of oak, ash and pine towards the sound of the sea crashing against the cliff face below. Some times she would stand here and contemplate. It usually served as a good place to work through various problems. This day she paused and pondered her options and none looked good.
Glaring down at the deep scar in her hand, the rune mocking in her mind and small fingers curled around it. She might not be powerful enough now to get payback, but one day. Oh yes, one day that mage would turn around and she would be standing there with revenge in mind. The last time Tasha had made such a promise, it had resulted in three long hard years but the end result had been successful. She still had Vincent's feeders to prove it.
