Lord Travanix
It began with the black ribbons" they came accompanying gifts to Bel's WestEnd residence. The sender was anonymous, the gifts not nearly as appealing as the ribbons in which they came wrapped. Bel found in the ribbons a peculiar calmness. When she held one in her hand, it seemed to soothe away the weight of her thoughts. It was easy to let things go' to drift along with the current, so-to-speak. She felt an odd sense of freedom abandoning herself to this sinister alien force.
The dark seductive whispers appealed to the Demon she once believed herself to be, it beckoned to sinful desires long dormant. Promises of what was and what could be teased and beguiled her. Memories haunted of less complicated times, when she'd reveled in pleasure, drank in the richness of mortals lives. More and more she began to sink into the temptation"
As time passed, the compulsion to seek the source of this power became pressing. She was growing ever hungrier for a true taste of it. And the sender" was not so anonymous anymore. The prime suspect was the slave lord known as Travanix. Little was known about the male" save for the scent of his powerful, tainted energy and his tricks with the ribbons.
His past with Viki remains an unknown to the Bloods and Belial.
Lord Veighn Yhaull
What should have been a standard business meeting went utterly awry' It isn't that chaos erupted, but somehow, someway the Black Wizard read Belial, just as if she had been an open book. How he'd known remains a mystery, what happened however was to begin a war"
Belial had been feeling restless, driven to distraction by the ribbon and its call. Yet work for the current Leader of Blood House Onyx never stops and nothing is allowed to get in its way' With the agreement firm between the Bloods and Anubis Karos, it became important that this information be passed on to another of the Family's allies, Lord Veighn Yhaull.
It was also a fishing expedition' to find out what Yhaull may know of Karos.
Belial set the meeting. Her intentions clear, her goals rather simple. How things had gone so wrong" well, she has only herself to blame.
Veighn showed up for the meeting early' just as she had. He was already inside the Medieval Tavern when Bel entered. Bel had chosen the MT because it is less likely to be bugged than the Red Dragon. Many have image orbs watching the Red Dragon, Bel is fully aware of this as are many others; this isn't a secret that has been kept well. However, few bother with the less popular areas around town" except, perhaps, for the Bloods.
The Bloods have orbs watching many places, and the MT is one of them.
Privacy from DCH was the motivation for picking the MT. The Bloods have grown tired of DCH's machinations" and wish to keep their business and associations away from the determined, spiteful demonic attorneys".
It wasn't long before the pair settled at a discrete table, far from prying ears and their covertly scheduled meeting began. Veighn was in rare form' Bel was sinking rapidly into dangerous depths. She really should have rescheduled!
It was obvious from the start that Veighn knew or sensed what was going on with Bel. Of course, he was quick to exploit it. Soon enough her intentions, her goals, were lying uselessly on the floor, while the pair of them rammed horns" Figuratively that is.
Then, with typical overconfidence, Bel fell to the old practice of subtle dining. Bel is a creature of energy and it is energy that sustains her. Veighn, she had determined was to be the main course" It was little more than a light supping" a taste really' but it was too much.
It would be days later before Bel would understand the significance of that moment' At the time, she was only aware of Veighn and his baiting. In a useless attempt to gain a better understanding of Veighn's nature, or perhaps an upper hand, something to hold over him, Bel had snagged herself. The primordial darkness that surrounds him caught interest?
